Fast and accurate slug for long distance shooting. The slug body is made of steel and has a galvanized coating against corrosion. The recoil is short and soft, allowing fast aiming for the next accurate shot. It is especially suitable for semi-automatic shotguns. The slug is highly resistant against ricocheting and has an excellent capability to cut through various obstacles such as tree branches, bushes and dense grass. When shooting through obstacles - the slug retains initial trajectory well. On hitting the target, the slug ensures powerful impact. It does not disintegrate during the hit and therefore does not contaminate the meat product. The modified Monolit 28 Sport slug with a reduced propellant load can be quite effectively used in sports shooting.

Action
The Monolit 28 slug ammunition is effectively used in big game hunting. Due to soft recoil, it is favored both in driven hunting and individual hunting where its high accuracy allows successful shooting at longer distances. Contrary to rifle bullets or shotgun lead slugs, it is the high resistance against ricocheting in grass and bushes which makes the choice in favor of the Monolit 28 slug when hunting individually in heavily overgrown areas. Over the years, experienced hunters with smooth bore weapons equipped with well-adjusted aiming devices have achieved results which demonstrate the equality or sometimes even superiority of Monolit 28 slugs over rifle ammunition.
Non-deformable material, shape of the slug, accurate balancing and ideally placed center of mass provides high accuracy hits at longer distances. Polymer slug parts reduce friction within the barrel and ensure safe procession of the slug through any choke. During the flight, the rear part of the slug together with the lateral surface of the slug body stabilizes it precisely with the nose forward. At the moment of hit, the flat front surface of Monolit 28 creates a round, clean entrance hole and provides powerful impact. The massive slug body penetrates deeply and does not disintegrate into splinters.
A male roe deer is standing at the spot densely overgrown with bushes, where a rifle bullet can split apart and just wound the animal. In cases seen in these pictures, a Monolit 28 slug works perfectly. It neither disintegrates nor strays off the aiming point. The animal was taken perfectly.
A moose was shot at a long distance with a perfect hit. The slug struck with its flat front surface and stopped the animal immediately – no blood effusion at all.
